Benson Students of the Month for November 2013

Benson High School honored four students (freshman Amanda Williams, sophomore Tristen Reynolds, junior Steven Barrera, and senior Ashley Shivvers) with the ‘Students of the Month’ award for November 2013 under the category of caring – to be kind, compassionate and show you care, express gratitude, forgive others, and help others in need.
Freshman Amanda Williams is actively engages with other students, is generous with her time, is consistently pleasant, and always has a smile on her face according to her teachers. Amanda is the daughter of Susan Sherman and Steven Williams.
Sophomore Tristen Reynolds is caring towards his fellow students and his teachers, and he inquires about the welfare and condition of fellow students and teachers according to his teachers. Tristen is a member of the soccer, wrestling and track and field teams and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is the son of David and Lydia Reynolds
Junior Steven Barrera, who is highly involved in extracurricular activities as well as clubs and organizations in and out of school, is encouraging to others according to his teachers. Steven is active in the Future Business Leaders of America, cross country, tennis, and is the junior class president. He is the son of Daniel and Patricia Barrera.
Senior Ashley Shivvers is very polite and helpful to students and staff and seems to care about all her fellow classmates according to her teachers. “She is the best basketball manager ever,” girls’ basketball coach Kimberly East added. Ashley is a member of the academic team, the academic decathlon, the International Club, is the president of the Literary Club, and is the manager for the girls’ volleyball and basketball teams. She is the daughter of Dantre Wood.
The ‘Student of the Month’ quality for December is diligence.
